On Sunday, 15 December, our members and their friends and families filled La Polonesa Restaurant to embrace together the magic of Christmas. Surrounded by traditional dishes, they sang Polish carols in a warm and festive atmosphere. The table featured delights such as bigos (hunter’s stew), herrings, and vegetable salad, while members of PPM (Aleksandra Czajka, Dawid Malkowicz, Dominika Strzyz García, CAMS, ICA, Karolina Maria Jóźwiak and Irena Albina Baranska) delivered a stunning concert, showcasing their vocal and instrumental talents!
The event included also a fundraising bazaar organised by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP) and a stall run by young Polish scouts from our Madrid Polish scouts troop. Our youngest ones could hand-paint gingerbread cookies baked for them by Mar. Halina Czarnecka Salata🙂!
The age range of attendees was also amazing: from 2 to 80 years old🙂and the attendance exceeded all our expectations, with the entrances were run out in no time and the place filled up to the limits. This could mean only one thing: Poles are a warm community, eager to gather and uphold their national traditions – even thousands of kilometres away from home.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to La Polonesa Polish restaurant for their wonderful hospitality, to the artists for their beautiful carol concert, and to all participants for creating such a jolly Christmas atmosphere 🙂!
